EDWIN SO
The forest mist

People around me embrace the sunny days, but I embrace the cloudy ones. This photo is taken in Hong Kong, a bustling city, or not. Unearth the country side of Hong Kong, where I enjoy the most.
I chose a misty day and I went for a hike in the mountains. Fortunately, I see the the perfect condition that I hoped for, a thick layer of mist in the mountain forest. As the light penetrated through the canopy and onto the forest floor, it faded weaker and weaker, like when the light shines into the ocean. The darker forest floor and the brighter canopy created by the mist and daylight, created the mood and atmosphere that I wish to capture. I used the 2 trees on the side as a frame, I asked my friend to be a part of my composition, standing further away in the woods, this emphasizes the insignificance of humans relative to nature. I embrace the mist and the unseen perspective of Hong Kong.
