Your luminous garden
Your luminous garden
I am a German photographer and poet. Through my photographs, I explore the borderlands between the visible, association, and inner life.
My photographs reveal what exists both within me and beyond me. Nature is my protagonist. I capture its vitality, poetry, darkness, and beauty in my images. Each photograph is produced by me as a one-of-a-kind piece and is accompanied by a poem I have written for it.
I work with grease and liquid on the lens. This creates an indeterminate, hazy quality - along with the kind of poetic light I love. In reference to the term “sfumato” from oil painting, I call my photographs “Sfumatographys.”
Your Luminous Garden captures summer light over a glowing wild meadow, brimming with poetry and magic. I’m especially fond of this backlit photograph, because only in this way can I truly do justice to the qualities of the moment. The text speaks to the idea that the things that matter most - the most beautiful things -can never belong to anyone.
Author
I studied communication design and graduated with a Diploma in Photography from Nuremberg University of Applied Sciences in 2010.
Today, I run my own design agency and work as a fine art photographer. Since 2019, I’ve taken photographs almost every day. All of my work is created entirely on a smartphone - an important choice, because it allows me to photograph spontaneously during my walks.
I live with a chronic illness, which is why I spend as much time in nature as possible. I often apply grease or liquid to my lens, creating a distinctive glow, softened colours, and the intentionally hazy, elusive character of my images. Inspired by the term “sfumato,” I call these works Sfumatographies.
My work has been shown at various art fairs and group exhibitions, and I collaborate with galleries including Galerie Helligkeit in Munich and Galerie Ostermayr in Nuremberg. In 2026, I will present my first solo exhibition in Nuremberg. Each of my produced photographs is accompanied by a poem.
