Left Behind
Left Behind
I really needed the quiet of the desert. So I booked it out to Death Valley. Caught a storm passing over the dunes for sunset. Morning came fast and I just couldn't seem to find a composition. So I just watched sunrise until it disappeared behind the clouds. On the walk out I stopped to adjust something and as I was looking down I saw this really interesting pattern. I spent the next 3-4 hours hunting around seeing what might reveal itself. At the bottom of every little dune cluster I'd find something new. Often being drawn to what looked like animals, faces, or some type of creatures battling it out. It felt like some ancient artist hid these things. Like it was left behind just for me to find. Learned an important lesson that day. Sometimes you just have to slow down and let the scene speak to you and try not to force something that just isn't there.
