Unattainable Beauty

The photo series „Unattainable Beauty" explores the artificial creation of beauty and desirability. An unrealistic ideal of physical beauty combined with the latest fashion standards is often portrayed in popular media and creates a pressure on individuals to conform to a certain body type, fashion standards, or facial features.
Since flowers are symbols of beauty, the models are made up of photographically staged flowers and plant parts. The organic bodies, dresses and shoes merge into new beings with overlong legs and necks, posing in front of the camera.
The series highlights the absurdity and superficiality of the beauty and fashion industry's unattainable standards. Regrading the fast transience of flowers, it also raises questions about the fast-paced nature of these industries.
All "models" are hand-assembled with different cut flowers and potted plants and were photographed in the studio.
