Eye of the dragon

This image is a top-down photo of a small geothermal hot spring in Hveravellir, located in the western highlands of Iceland. Locals call this geothermal pool "the eye of the dragon". The minerals that are deposited by the fumarole exhalations give the geothermal pool its beautiful colors. From a horizontal point of view, the colors of the hot spring are hardly visible. Flying my drone in this geothermal area, however, gave me a very different perspective of the hot spring. With my drone I did not only capture the colors, but also the textures of this almost otherworldly landscape.
