From April 2022, I walk along the North Sea coast of the Netherlands. I walk in stages from the North to the South. Always in the company of one or more cameras. On the Internet (Instagram and FindPenguins), I report on the walking stages with photos.

This series submitted for the Annual Photography Awards is a selection of photos taken on my (sixth) completed North Sea coastal path walk on 29 March 2023. I walked from from IJmuiden aan Zee to Zandvoort aan Zee. I passed the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park on this coastal leg, one of among the largest dune areas in the Netherlands. An amazing dune landscape where I shot this submitted series of photos on black-and-white film.

Photography is what I love: past, present and future in one medium! Through photographs I reflect on the past, photographing I like to do myself, now and for later.

Photography has long been a mania for me, as a photographer I am self-taught. Professionally, I worked for a long time in a historical archive as a photo conservator: preservation, management and use of audiovisual material in historical collections. Fits well with personal interest in photography, as a medium and historical artifact.
