The Best Angle

The Best Angle depicts a twenty-one days old live zebrafish.

As a result of DNA modification, the animal lymphatic vessels glow a fluorescent green, while the mouth, the eye and the fins shine a warm red color. The image was captured using super resolution microscope and an Olympus camera, and it is part of a scientific study that aims to understand how lymphatic cells develop in the brain of these tiny tropical fish. Highlighting developmental processes in brain development is key to identify potential targets for treating patologies such as brain cancers and neurodegenerative diseases.
